Jane Murray Obituary
Mrs. Jane (Jean) Thompson Murray was born in Scotland on October 19, 1925. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Agnes (Tervit) Mitchell.
She was a factory worker in Scotland during WWII and later moved to Canada. After her children grew up, she was employed with Irving Tree Nursery where, among many duties, she thinned trees in the green house. Jean was a member of St. John’s United Church, she loved music and fondly remembered the Piper that walked the highest Turret of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.
Jean will live on in the hearts and memories of her two daughters: Bette Fraser and her husband John of Mount Hebron and Jane McLaughlin and her husband Fred of Sussex Corner, two sons; James Murray and his Wendy of Picadilly and Dale Murray of Drury’s Cove, nine grandchildren; Stephanie Hall and her husband Sean of Saint John, Rob Titcomb and Lindsay Lamb of Sussex Corner, Jacob McLaughlin and Natalie Otis of Sussex Corner, Ashley McLaughlin and Nick Whitters of Sussex Corner, Mitchell Murray and Kayla Folkins of Roachville, Corey Murray of Saint John, Madison Murray and Thomas McMillan of Picadilly, Neva Crandlemere and her husband Zane of Drury’s Cove and Brett Murray and his wife Mellisa of White’s Mountain; her great grandchildren: Isaac, Evan, Carter, Zack, Garrett, Autumn and Isla; her sister, Betty Glenfield of Ontario; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jane (Jean) Thompson Murray formerly of Sussex Corner, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on October 29, 2016 at the age of 91.
Jean was predeceased by her granddaughter, Lindsay Lee Titcomb; her twin grandsons: Marcus and Phillip McLaughlin and by the father of her children: Walter (Stuie) Murray who passed away in 2012.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
A service celebrating Jean’s life will be held from St. John’s United Church on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
