1948-2018

Patricia Margaret “Pat” Watson à 69, of Hall’s Harbour, Kings County, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at home. Born in Mount Denson, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Vaughan) Smith. In her earlier years, she had been employed as a nurse’s aide, then worked at Dairy Queen, New Minas, then at Annapolis Valley Canners and later in the laundry department of Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, from where she retired. She then cared for her mother, Bertha and then her mother-in-law and best friend, Carrie. She was a loving daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Pat was very much looking forward to seeing her two new great grandsons. She loved playing bingo and enjoyed the many bingo trips she went on with Carrie. She had a big heart and always put others first. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Charles “Colin”; a daughter, Kara (Tim) Bigelow, Gospel Woods Road; a son, Kevin (Melissa) Watson, Gospel Woods Road; two sisters, Rhoda (Jim) Wamboldt, El Rosarito, Baja, California; Dorothy Grondine, Saint John, NB; a brother, John (Cathy) Smith, Cold Lake, AB; five grandchildren, Ashley Watson (Glen Balsom), Ottawa, On; Maggie Watson, Peggy’s Cove; Gillian Watson , Gospel Woods Road; Brandon (Jessica) Bigelow, Fort St. John, BC; Bryce Bigelow, Gospel Woods Road; three great grandchildren, Mia, Jordan and Brayden Balsom, Ottawa, ON. She was predeceased by a grandson, Noah Bigelow; a brother-in-law, Gordie Grondine. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Fibromyalgia Foundation of Canada. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
