VERONICA “VERA” PATRICIA HERRA (NÉE MORAN) Obituary
Peacefully passed at her home in Innisfil with family by her side on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of the late John Herra. Loving mother of Jackie (Eugene) McDermott, Myra (Reg) Lewis, Sharon (Ted) Young and Arlene (Mike) Manning. Dear Nana of Catherine McDermott, John (Andria) Lewis, Christine (Jon) Goepfrich, Jennifer McDermott, James Lewis, Maegan Lewis, Janet (Kyle) Stewart, Kevin Manning, Anne McDermott, Jessica Young, Elizabeth (Nariman) Mammadli, Nicole (Julian) Craparotta, and Stephen McDermott. Proud great grandmother of Piper Evoy, Julian Lewis, Viola Lewis, TJ Evoy, Zoë Goepfrich and Ben Lewis. Vera is survived by her brother James (Mona) Moran and predeceased by her siblings Eileen, Maureen and Edward. Will be missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, January 27th, 2023 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie at 10 am followed by a reception inside the Church Hall. Interment to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St., Thornhill. Donations in Vera’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated by the family.
