Martin-Benjamin (Maurice) of St. Thomas, passed away, peacefully on Wednesday, November 19th, 2014, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Doreen Anna Martin and the late Margaret Martin. Loved father of Dr. Daniel Martin (Loretta) of Winnipeg, Stephen Martin (Susan) of Almont and Marilyn Orr (Bill) of Austin Texas. Loved grandfather of Benjamin Martin, Rebecca Martin, Calab Singh, Matthew Martin and Andrew Singh. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Maurice was born in Luton, Ontario on January 1, 1932, the son the late George and Nellie (Vail) Martin. He was retired from the Armed Forces (Air Force) and he also was a long time caretaker of Grace United Church. He was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Monday from 7-9 p.m and Tuesday at the church from 12-1pm. The funeral service will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Aylmer Cemetery on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society.
