Gary Wayne MAILING Obituary
Mailing à Gary Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015, at the L.H.S.C. (University Campus), after a courageous battle, in his 76th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of over 50 years of Carol (Conrad) Mailing and much loved father of Paul Andrew Mailing and the late Matthew Curtis Mailing (July 21, 2003). Dear brother of Pat McLennan of London, Don and his wife Jackie Mailing of St. Thomas and the late William (Bill) Mailing (late Shirley) and the late Robert Mailing (late Jean). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Gary was born in St. Thomas on October 26th, 1939, the son of the late Hugh and Edna (Oak) Mailing. He owned and operated Gary Mailing Clothing for 15 years and prior to that was a partner in Richardson Clothing for 27 years. He was a past President of the St. Thomas Men’s Wear Association. Gary was a member of First United Church. He was a long time member of the Y.M.C.A., played in the City Basketball League, and enjoyed running. Gary was a former member of the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday, February 6th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at First United Church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Union Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the L.H. S.C. (Matthew Mailing Centre for Translational Transplant Studies.)
