Hilton Byron Bowness Obituary check_circle

The death occurred peacefully with his family by his side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Friday, February 24, 2023, of Hilton “Byron” Bowness, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Oliver) Bowness, of Huntley. Born on March 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Howard and Frances (nee Crockett) Bowness, of Montrose.

Loving father of Charlotte Bowness, Huntley, Shelley Baker (late Murray), Charlottetown, and Iver (Kim) Bowness, Huntley. Cherished grandfather to Mary-Anne (Marvin) Prodanovic, Ben (Jen) Barnes, Maegan (Andrew) Morash, Dan (Charley) Barnes, Brett (Brittanny) Bowness, Travis (Samantha) Bowness, and Matthew (Natasha) Bowness. Great-grandfather to Xander, Viola, Lily, Charlotte, Juniper, Everly, and Brannigan.

Survived by sisters Evelyn (late Eston) Ramsay, Lynda (Allan) Leard, and brother, Allison (Joan) Bowness. Predeceased by brothers and sisters, George Bowness, Dorothy (late Clayton) Travers, Marie (late Paul) Devlin, Lois (late Ken) Pridham, Keith (late Blanche) Bowness, Herbert Bowness, Doreen (late Lowell) Heustis, and infant sister, Jean. Survived by brothers-in-law, Wendell (late Janice), Reginald (late Lily Beth), and sisters-in-law, Trude (Joe) Dolphin and Revada Bowness. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visitation Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Monday afternoon from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Erasmus Madimbu officiating. Interment in the Montrose United Church Cemetery.
