Alma Zimmerling (nee Firerobin) Obituary
After a lengthy illness at the Pontiac Reception Centre, Shawville, Quebec on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Elden Zimmerling for 62 years. Loving mother of Brian (Donna Yach), Douglas (Bonnie Tubman) and Roy (Lynne Tourangeau). Cherished grandmother of Crystal, Courtney, Candace, Alex, Ben, Sarah and Katelyn. Great grandmother to Kinsleigh, Grayson, Rozlyn and Jase. She will be sadly missed by sisters Helen and Viola and brother Gerald. Predeceased by parents August Firerobin and Florence Larose and sisters Mary & Myrtle and brothers Arvine & Eddy. Alma will be missed by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alma was known around the area for her dedication to the Women’s Auxiliary. She took great joy in gardening and playing cards and enjoyed the old time dances. Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Friday, June 17 to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Shawville for Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Village Cemetery. Donations to the Pontiac Reception Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
