Robert Fraize Obituary check_circle

loving husband of Shirley (nee Chancey). Proud and loving Dad to Linda Kirby (Phil), Bob Jr., Susan Hicks (Fraser), Beverly Fraize-Roche (Harvey). Devoted Pop to much-loved grandchildren Grant Kirby (Krista Layden), Heather Kirby (Elliot Evans), Michael Fraize, Ryan Fraize (Alexis Melendy), Victoria Clement (Tony), Jeremy Hicks (Melissa Johnson), Gregory Hicks (Amanda Crowley), Julie Kendall (Drake MacDonald), and Jodie Kendall (Ryan Day), precious great-granddaughter, Lily Anne Clement. Also leaving to mourn, siblings Betty Janes (John), Jack (Bernice, deceased), Mary Butler (Jim), Theresa Butler (Tony), sister-in-law Joyce Emberley (Ralph), brother-in-law Wayne Chancey, nieces, nephews and other family members. He will be remembered fondly by fellow members of his long-time guitar group. Bob was predeceased by parents: Bob Fraize, Mildred Fraize, parents-in-law Blanche and Roy Chancey, sister-in-law Rita (Chancey) Stevens, brothers-in-law Fred Stevens and Bob Chancey. Bob served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Camp Chilliwack, Vedder Crossing, BC and later worked with Motor Vehicle Registration, NL. He leaves a large circle of friends in Newfoundland, as well as friends in Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. David Jones, Charlene Downey and the Ambulatory Unit, HSC, and Dereck Tucker and other staff members of the Palliative Care Unit at the Leonard A. Miller Centre. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday from 2:00 pm. à 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. à 9:00 pm. and on Thursday from 2:00 pm. à 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm. à 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held in Barrett’s Chapel on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date. Floral tributes are welcome or donations to St. David’s Presbyterian Church, 98 Elizabeth Avenue, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
