Billy Martin Obituary
Billy Paul Martin, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 15, 2011 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 4pm at Cremation Society of Alaska, 7216 Lake Otis Parkway, Anchorage Pastor Freddie Abainza will officiate.
Billy was born on October 14, 1938 to William and Myrtle (Rinks) Martin in Belmont Mississippi. Billy arrived in Alaska in 1981. He worked on the North Slope for over 22 years as a truck driver.
His family said, " Billy was a faithful husband, father and grandfather. He always enjoyed taking his grandchildren for truck rides, shopping and taking them out to eat. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Especially by friends Paul and Janet Landry and Don and Yzette Anders"
Billy is survived by his wife, Aurora Solis Martin, children and grandchildren, Anita Martin and Amber Martin, Arizona, Jesse and Jackie Cross, and Javon Cross of Anchorage, Arleen and Edwin Medina, Aleeyah, Alyanna, Alyssah, and Airish Medina, Anchorage; Amelee Valorozo, Philippines; father William Martin Sr.; brothers William Martin Jr., Arizona, Phillip Martin and Le Roy Martin both of Colorado.; sisters, Joan Ramstetter and Sue Saunders, Colorado; sister- in- law, Juliana Solis, Anchorage; and numerous nieces and nephews Billy. was preceded in death by his mother ,sister Carolyn Lynch and his brother, Carl Martin.
