Wilma Ruth Carr, 79, passed away at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska on February 4, 2012.

A public visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3900 Wisconsin Street, Thursday, February 9, 2012. A service will be held the following day; Friday, February 10, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Pallbearers include Gregory Carr, Shawn Beck, Nathan Carr, Houston Carr, Collin Agni, Phillip Blanchett, Timothy Carr, George Piaskowski, Dennis Piaskowski, Thomas Piaskowski, and Lance Jones. Honorary Pallbearers include Barney Gottstein, William McHugh, John Schwamm, Paul Moseley, Joe Rothstein, Nancy McHugh, John Clark, Richard Anschuetz, Adrian Ryan, and Alexander Von Hafften.

Wilma was born in Oklahoma on August 13, 1932 to Homer and Ruth Moseley.

Her family wrote, "Wilma will be remembered for her kindness, and appreciation of others. In the hospital the day before she died, Wilma told each of her doctors and family members, "Thank you." It wasn’t until after she passed, that we realized that she was thanking us for helping her, and loving her. Even in her darkest hours, she was thinking of others. We will always be thankful for the time we had with Wilma, and for the love she shared with everyone she met."

Mrs. Carr is survived by: son Gregory Carr; daughter Jacqueline Carr; son-in-law Shawn Beck; brother Paul Moseley with his wife Sharon; sisters in-law Mary Piaskowski of Anchorage and LaMoine Oppelt of Apopka, Florida; ; grandchildren Melanie Carr Jones, Lance Jones, Kate Carr, Jenny George, Nathan and Jessica Carr, Nicole Carr, Todd Lowry, Lauren Blanchett, Phillip Blanchett, Houston Carr, Collin Agni, Stephanie DeLaRosa, Claire Agni, Genevieve Beck, and Jonathan Beck; great-grandchildren Jack, Henry and Jane Carr, Tun’aqi and Ivalu Blanchett, and Caine and Brice Jones; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Ruth Moseley; her husband Laurence John Carr; and her son Brian L. Carr.

The family would like to acknowledge the invaluable assistance of long-time personal assistant, Leslie Wiley, and to thank the many physicians and personal assistants who cared for her during her last years.
