Barbara Jeanette Baker Obituary check_circle

Anniston – A Memorial Service for Mrs. Barbara Jeanette Baker of Anniston will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs, Anniston. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour. The Rev. Randy Baker and Brad Sirmon will be officiating. Mrs. Baker died on February 4, 2012 at NE RMC Hospital in Anniston. Mrs. Baker was born January 6, 1936 in Jackson County, Florida. She grew up in Columbus, Georgia. She worked for Sears and Roebuck, first in Columbus, then in Anniston, for many years. She and Leon, then, became Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchisee’s, with several stores in NE Alabama, for over 30 years. She was a member of the Cheaha Vintage Auto Club and Bama Street Rod Association. She was an avid reader; she enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 States and several countries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lancy Dean and Essie Lee Trawick, of Phenix City; brother, Early Doyle Trawick, of Orlando, Fla.; and sister, Mary Jenene Merchant, of Salem. Mrs. Baker is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Cader Leon Baker; daughter and best friend, Sharon, and special son-in-law, Jim Sirmon; brothers, Billy Thomas Trawick and wife, Marcia, of Norway, S.C. and Bobby Dean Trawick and wife, Gloria, of Alabaster; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
