Frances Howard Dear Obituary check_circle

Anniston – Visitation for Frances Howard Dear, 85, of Anniston, will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 5 – 7 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The family will have a private graveside service at a later time. Mrs. Dear died on Saturday. Mrs. Dear’s greatest pleasure in life was serving people. Whether through church, her family, or a stranger in need, she always took joy in spending time with others and helping those in need. Her favorite hobbies were her family, cooking and crafting. She spent many joyful days around the pool with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Mayor Claude Dear; a daughter, Iris Dear; her parents, Fred and Mamie Howard; and a brother, Bill Howard. Mrs. Dear is survived by two daughters, Rita D. Moore and her husband, Reed, of Talladega and Melynda D. Martin, of Oxford; five grandchildren, Alan Smith, Chip Moore, William L. Moore, Andrew L. Moore, and Britni K. Martin; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Polly Howell and Opal Guthrie; many nieces and nephews; and a loving friend and caregiver, Susie Bates. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Crook Cemetery Fund in Ohatchee (2271 Grayton Road South, Wellington, AL 36279)
