Ruby Maylene Waln Obituary check_circle

Ruby Maylene Waln passed away on February 4, 2012 from complications of leukemia. She was 79. Born Ruby Maylene Odell on May 26, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, Maylene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and cherished friend. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, James "Jay" Waln; four children, Stephen Buschmeyer, James Bonnie, John Bonnie, and Luanne Bonnie; three daughters-in-law, Linda Buschmeyer, Jana Bonnie, and Karen Bonnie; one near-son-in-law, Brent Gray; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Bonnie, Breanna Diciero, Travis Bonnie, Samuel Bonnie, Wayne Buschmeyer, Elizabeth Bonnie, Daniel Buschmeyer, Patrick Bonnie, Joseph Bonnie, Eli Gray, and Anderson Gray; and many very dear friends. Maylene is also survived by her husband’s children and spouses, his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister and their spouses, James and Jean Odell, and Nelda and George Pope, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Maylene was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nellie Odell; her first husband, Lewis Bonnie (November 8, 1966); and her second husband, Victor Buschmeyer (December 10, 1977). Maylene was an active and devoted member of Christ Church United Methodist, where she volunteered and served in leadership positions for more than 45 years. She will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society . Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
