Brenda Andreas Obituary check_circle

Brenda "Kay" Andreas, 71, passed away at home the evening of Thursday. December l, 2011 surrounded by family and friends after a long courageous battle with cancer. Kay was born June 17, 1940 in Philadelphia, MS. A real farm girl, she loved animals, rode horses and drove a tractor at an early age.
In 1962 Kay became a devoted Marine Corps wife to Ronald Andreas. Kay prided herself on being independent and assertive through the most trying conditions of military life including: being an officer’s wife, numerous military deployments, separation, sacrifice, and relocations. She could be tough as a drill sergeant and compassionate as an angel.
Kay worked in hospitality and tourism for over 20 years. She also believed in serving her community and was a member of the following organizations during her time in Yuma: Yuma County Fair, Navy Relief, Red Cross Volunteer, Navy League, Ladies Auxiliary of the Yuma Elks Lodge, and Chamber of Commerce. Some of her hobbies/special interests included cooking, baking, shopping, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Brenda Kay is survived by her loving husband of over 49 years, Ron; children, David & Donna; brother, Kent Turner. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. M.E. Turner of Mississippi. We take comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at Yuma Mortuary, Friday, December 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M.
