After a courageous battle with colon cancer, Pepper Benz of Auburn California passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was 42 years old.
Pepper grew up in Redding California and graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in German. He also travelled abroad, living and working in Germany and Switzerland.
He was one of two children born to Frank and Anna Mae Benz, sibling to Michelle Terra. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Jill Lehman Benz; his sons, Carter and Brady. Pepper was a devoted father and enjoyed sharing his love of life with his two sons. Pepper was treasured by countless friends and family who were blessed to have known him.
Pepper touched the lives of many people with his enthusiasm and passion for everything he did. An accomplished athlete, Pepper was well known to many snow and water ski fans in the area. He was an avid barefooter who adored and respected Lake Clementine. With his charismatic personality, he had a remarkable ability to connect with people wherever he went. He was able to fulfill his professional aspirations by starting his own business, Morpheus, in the electronics industry.
A memorial service will celebrated at the First Baptist Church of Auburn, 139 E. Placer Street, Auburn on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10 a.m.
