Nina Ruth Acree Obituary
Nina Ruth Acree, 86, of Elizabethtown passed away at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Acree retired as a secretary at Cummins Inc. She was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ. She was an avid cat lover, sang in the Sweet Adelines and loved cake decorating, playing the piano and painting ceramics
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rich Gant officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bartholomew County Humane Society or Lakeview Church Of Christ.
Born in Tompkinsville, Ky., Mrs. Acree was the daughter of Sidney and May Sims Ray.
She married Preston R. Acree on Dec. 24, 1947, and he survives.
Other survivors include a son, Steven Acree (John Sins) of Palm Springs, Calif.; grandchildren, Michael (Diana) Acree of Elizabethtown, Rachael Acree (Kiel Barkdull) of Anderson and Daniel (Janice) Acree of Waymansville; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Acree was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Alan Acree; a brother, Harold Ray; and two half brothers.
