Lucius "Flip" Colomb, Jr.

LAFAYETTE – Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at a 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette for Lucius "Flip" Colomb, Jr., age 72, who passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Lambert Lein, S.V.D., pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Colomb, Jr. was a native of Grand Coteau and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He retired as a cement finisher for most of his life with Matt Durand with over ten years of service and was a member of Cement Mason’s Union in Lafayette. Mr. Colomb, Jr. was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette.

Survivors include his wife of over thirty years, Alice Faye Breaux Colomb of Lafayette; two sons, Brandon Colomb of Lafayette and Mark Colomb, Sr. and his wife, Tyra, of Houston; three daughters, Natalie Benjamin and her husband, Alex, of Lafayette, Monica Colomb Haywood of Houston and Deitra Paul of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Kandance Castille, AOAN, Mark Colomb, Jr., Steven Haywood, Jr., Robin Colomb, Shatravin Hamilton, Raylynn Paul, Isiah Benjamin, Aaron Benjamin and Chyna Colomb; one great grandchild, Paige Colomb; two brothers, Joseph Roy Colomb and his wife, Betty, of Lafayette and Sterling Colomb and his wife, Yvonne; and three sisters, Priscilla Narcisse and her husband, Alvin, of Lafayette, Velma Mouton and her husband, Jules, III of Lafayette and Bernadine Rubin of Bellevue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius Colomb, Sr. and the former Lena Guilbeaux, both natives of Grand Coteau; three brothers, Shelton Colomb, Allen Colomb and Calvin Colomb; one sister, Lou Ana Colomb.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
