SEBEC VILLAGE – Ronald R. Ames Sr., 75, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, surrounded by family at home. He was born March 29, 1936, in Milo, son of Russell and Sadie (Tarr) Ames. Ronald grew up in Sebec. He attended local schools and served in the U.S. Army. Ronald was a self-employed woodsmen and also worked for Ames Construction. He loved the outdoors, and being in the woods, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Ronald was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Beulah (Nason) Ames, in 2008. Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Parsons and husband, David, of Hampden, and Louisa Finnemore and husband, Daryl, of Barnard; one son, Ronald Ames Jr. and wife, Maureen, of Bowerbank; daughter-in-law, Melanie Burrill; a special friend, Jackie Campbell; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Parsons and her fiance, Matthew Mower, Andrew G. Parsons, Lindsey Zimmerman, Douglas Finnemore, Derek Ames, Megan and Katherine Ames, Brittany and Chris Ames, and Damien Small; one great-grandson, Jaxson Zimmerman; three brothers, Melvin, Silas and Dennis; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Timothy and Chris; and one sister, Priscilla Berberian. Special thanks to Erica, Melanie, Cathy and Trudy for their kindness, compassion, respect and loving care for our dad. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Sebec Event Center, Sebec. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Sebec Village Associates or Sebec Village Community Church.
