Richard "Rich" John Crum

Asheville – Richard "Rich" John Crum, 53, of Asheville went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2012 after a brief illness.

Richard was born on March 9, 1958 to John H. and Lynette S. (Held) Crum in Mansfield, Ohio. He grew up in Norwalk, Ohio.

He graduated from Monroeville High School and Ehove Joint Vocational School with a degree in Auto Body Repair.

Rich was the owner of Alignment, Brakes, and More in Asheville, NC, for many years.

Rich loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Rich was an avid Nascar Fan. Rich’s main passion was working on cars. He also loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Rich is survived by his mother, Lynette S. (Held) Crum of Norwalk, Ohio; sons, Richard L. Crum of Asheville, Anthony S. (Stephanie) Valentine of Norwalk, Ohio, Jason (Tamara) Burling and Mickey Burling of Canton, NC; sisters, Carole Montgomery of San Francisco, Calif. and Betsy (Jeff) Feaga of Norwalk, Ohio; brothers, Howard (Connie Myers) Crum, Lee (Barb Myers) Crum, both of Norwalk, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexis and Aneilya of Asheville; Nicholas and Brady of Norwalk, Ohio, Brandon, Nicholas, Paige, Gage and Mia of Canton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his father, John H. Crum in 2010, maternal grandparents George and Thelma Held; parental grandparents Elwin and Ruth Crum and sister-in-law, Michelle A. Crum.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the Georgetown Baptist Church on Dix Creek Road No. 1, Leicester with Pastor Lee Davis officiation.
