Clifford Abel Obituary check_circle

Clifford "Chuck" Abel, 85, formerly of Rudolph, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the Town of Sigel. The Rev. Robert Nelson will officiate. Burial in the Holy Rosary Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids; and again from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Chuck was born May 23, 1926, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Edward and Bernice (Shearier) Abel. He married Violet Mae Murawski on Jan. 25, 1947, in the Town of Sigel. She died June 6, 2002.

Chuck was a lifelong farmer. He also was at one time employed at Preway Inc. and was a milk hauler for Dairy State Cheese in Rudolph. Chuck’s true loves were his family and riding his tractor on the farm.

Chuck is survived by four children, Sharon (Kenneth) Swetz of Wisconsin Rapids, Edward (Christine) Abel of Rudolph, Tim Abel of Rudolph and Gary Abel of Rudolph; one grandson, Steven Swetz of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Ethelmae Schulz of Wisconsin Rapids; and brother-in-law, David (Barbara) Murawski of Wisconsin Rapids. Chuck is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet; two sisters, Alice (William) Machon and Dorothy Abel; and one brother, Ted (Florence) Abel.
