Shirley B. Barton Obituary
Shirley B. Barton, 78, of 2610 Blueberry Lane, Wisconsin Rapids, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Rev. John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Shirley was born in Auburndale on May 7, 1933, to Arthur and Matilda (Bauer) Anderson. She married Robert Barton on Aug. 1, 1953, in Wisconsin Rapids He died on June 15, 2011.
Shirley worked as a medical transcriptionist for Riverview Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in her church as a volunteer.
Shirley loved being a mom and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, working crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include her four children, Linda (Gary) Crahen and Michael (Mayrn) of Madison, Julie (Tod) Johnson and Brenda (John) VanDeLoop of Wisconsin Rapids; nine grandchildren, Whitney, Katie, Kaleigh, Amy, Hannah, Erin, James, Allison and Matthew; two sisters, Audrey (Phillip) Greeneway and Arlette (Harlan) Buss, all of Wisconsin Rapids; and brother, Arthur (Judy) Anderson of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.
Friends may call at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
