Katie "Kate" Mariah (Winter) Bettner
July 18, 1979-Oct. 29, 2011
Kate, a life-long citizen of Colorado Springs, was born to Donald Winter and Lindsay Saunders on July 18, 1979. She passed to her Heavenly Father on October 29, 2011.
Kate was a graduate of Palmer High School and attended Pikes Peak Community College. She worked for the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s office for several years before answering her true calling of full-time Mom and homemaker.
Kate loved nature’s beauty, gardening and all creatures à large and small. She cherished her many friends, immediate and extended families. A poet once wrote, "All that is living is Holy." This describes Kate à a gentle, loving and living soul who will reside forever in the memories of beloved husband Daniel and precious son, Nickolas.
In addition to her husband and son, Kate leaves behind her dear mothers Lindsay and PeggySue, dedicated father Don, her dear brother Jason, grandmother Rachel and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kate loved and was a member of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Her little boy, Nickolas, benefited from the Head Start Program. She was also an organ/tissue donor. Kate wanted these programs remembered in her name in lieu of flowers.
The Celebration of Kate’s life will be held at the Memorial Garden’s Chapel, Academy and Airport Road, Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1:00pm
