Johnson, Donald K. A lifelong resident of Barrington, 92, passed away on December 30, 2011. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Force during World War II. He flew many successful missions in the European Theatre. He graduated from Barrington High School Class of 1936. Don was an exceptional golfer and highly respected by many having served as the president of WAGA for many years. He hit 9 hole in ones and 7 eagles in his lifetime. In 1968, Don co-founded NAGA with Bill Davis Founder of Golf Digest. He was a charter member of VFW Post 7706 and remained active throughout his lifetime. Don taught ballroom dancing, along with his wife Pat, in the area for many years. In 2008, he was a participant in Honor Flight to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. He was the loving father of Missy Moody, Kris Breneisen, Jeff (Lisa) Johnson, Amy (Pete) Mullally; grandfather of Elizabeth (Ken), Heather (Darwin), Brett (Jessica), Kirk, Steven, Eric, Paige, and Brian; great-grandfather of Matias, Khalil, Lua, Ace, and Brooklyn. His wife of 61 years, Patricia, and his siblings George, Ellen, Lenea, Dorothy, and Peter preceded him in death. Services will be held on January 13, 2012 at St. Anne’s Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington, 10am Visitation with Family and 11am Mass followed by Inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Don’s name.m
