Peter Braak Obituary
t is with great sadness that the family of Peter Braak wishes to announce his peaceful passing at Points West Living in Red Deer on July 10, 2022 at the incredible age of 98 years old.
Peter is survived by his 6 children, Jeane Wierenga, Myna Humphrey, Dorothy Sjolie, Cor Braak, Andre Braak and John Braak, 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren as well as 2 sisters and 1 brother all who loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his beautiful wife Sylvia Braak as well as daughter Marjorie Dolman, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
Peter Braak came to Canada in 1948 as an engaged man where he lived here for two years before going back to Netherlands to marry Sylvia before both immigrating here 1950. He and Sylvia had 7 children in Canada. As well as starting his business DH&P Supplies & Equipment in 1968 based out of Lacombe County.
A Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 6-8:00 pm at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel – Lacombe.
A Funeral Service will be held at Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church on Monday July 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm, all who knew Peter are welcome to attend. Peter loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and there will be childcare available during the service in the Church nursery. Peter will be laid to rest beside his wife Sylvia following the service. It is requested that only family and close relatives attend the graveside service.
The family would like to thank the loving and patient staff at Points West Living in Red Deer who cared for Peter in the last 5 years of his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choosing.
