Velna Druscilla Mills, wife of Lloyd Mills of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the age of 86.
Born in Napan on September 4, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Archie and Jennie Elizabeth (Bessie) (MacInnis) Gilliss. She worked at the Morada Motel for many years in housekeeping. She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd Mills; son-in-law, Ludger Cormier of Miramichi; three grandchildren: Christine Adams (Cory) of Quispamsis, Nancy Buggie (Justin) of Amherst, NS and Greg Corcoran (Alex) of Miramichi; seven great grandchildren; three sisters: Helen MacDiarmid of Napan, Beatrice Leslie of Miramichi and Diane Tucker of Fredericton; two brothers: Roy Gilliss (Anita) of Napan and Archie Gilliss Jr. (Elwanda) of Fredericton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Heather Cormier, son, Garth Mills, two sisters: Ruth and Laura and Infant brother.
Visitation will be held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. David Allan officiating. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.
