Margaret Emma Kennedy Obituary check_circle

Margaret Emma Kennedy, 85, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She was born in Saint John and was the daughter of the late Excella Martin.

Margaret attended Success Business College and then worked at Blue Cross. Later, she went to work at General Motors of Canada Limited and retired in 1986, after 32 years of service.

She was a strong supporter of St. John’s United Church, where she previously taught Sunday School, a member of Session, a member of the UCW and the 50 / 50 Couples Club, as well as a member of the Pastoral Care Committee.

Margaret was a past President of the Beaver Ladies Curling Club, past President of the Ladies Division of the Magnetic Hill Golf & Country Club and a past President of the Gyrettes. She was a member of the Domestic Engineers Bowling League and a former member of the Moncton Golf & Country Club and a member of the Sir Charles G.D. Roberts IODE Chapter. She loved to play bridge.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Gerald Kennedy; two daughters, Deborah Crawford (Rick) of Halifax, NS and Sharon Kennedy of Shediac Cape; one son, Michael MacLean (Suzanne) of Ottawa, ON; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Slack (late David) of Ottawa, ON.

In respect with Margaret’s wishes, cremation will take place with no visitation. A Service to celebrate and honour Margaret’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 1:30 pm with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating, followed by a reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
