Lawrence Bunnell Obituary check_circle

Lawrence was born in Marrtown on December 15, 1944. He is the son of the late Roy Allen and Agnes Ambrosia (Lowther) Bunnell.

In 1967, Lawrence met and married his sweetheart Mary and as he always said, “instantly fell in love with her beautiful blue eyes. The two shared 49 wonderful years of marriage together and during that time they raised seven beautiful daughters, enjoying every moment together.

Lawrence loved the outdoors and spent many hours in his vegetable garden. He also liked to go deer hunting and fishing. All those who knew Lawrence, knew that many birds could often be found feeding around their home, as he never wanted to see any of them go hungry. When Lawrence wasn’t out tending to his garden or tracking down his next catch, he could be seen shining up the vehicles—they were always immaculate.

The enjoyment that Lawrence found in his hobbies was nothing in comparison to the great love he held for his family. He was so very proud of them all. When the grandchildren came along, Lawrence loved to spend time with them and many an adventure was had on trips to the Stewiacke Mini Golf Course. Lawrence’s daughters fondly remember how loving a father and grandfather he was to all of them

Lawrence served for over 271/2 years with the Canadian Army retiring as a sergeant in 1992. He also served the Lord faithfully, alongside his wife, for 41 years. Lawrence loved his church and served as a minister of the United Pentecostal Church for 15 years. The love for the Lord that Lawrence and Mary had was passed onto their children through their upbringing and now is being carried through to the next generation.

Lawrence was loved and respected by his family; both as a husband and a father, and later as a father-in-law and grandfather.

Lawrence will always be at home in the hearts of Mary his beloved wife of 49 years; their daughters: Linda Bunnell of Sussex, Sheila and Richard Armstrong of Sussex, Cindy and Richard Aalbers of Summerside PEI, Beth and Mike Wittmeier of Woodstock, Pam and Stanley O’Donnell of St. George, Naomi Bunnell of Perth-Andover and Angela and Derek Ellison of St. George; his 17 grandchildren: Josh, Ella and Joel O’Donnell, Kylie, Jasmine, Brandon, Michaela, and Christiana Wittmeier, Jared, Anthony, Emily, and Diana Aalbers, Angelika, Brianna, Colby, and Donovan Ellison and Ariel Armstrong; his three sisters: Ruth, Iva and Barbara; as well as several extended family members.
