Pearl Irene LeRiche (nee Winegarden) Obituary check_circle

Pearl Irene LeRiche (nee Winegarden)
24 janvier 1929 – 26 octobre 2018
Peacefully, after a short illness in her 90th year, Pearl passed away at the General Hospital in Hamilton. She was the beloved wife of Morgan (Bert) LeRiche, loving mother of Starr (Mike) and grandmother to Emma. She is survived by her sister Verna as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Pearl was a proud Hamiltonian and an even bigger Tiger Cat fan. She spent several years away from home after joining the army, then retired from the services and travelled with her husband Bert (who was also in the army) living in New Brunswick, Germany, Quebec, Saskatchewan, then back to Ontario before Bert retired from the army and they moved to Hamilton.
Pearl will always be remembered for her stories and her sense of humour, her crafts and her cooking, and her love and desire to help others. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Our sincere appreciation to the staff at Parkview Nursing Centre for their care and friendship over these past few years and to the staff on 8 South and 8 West at the General Hospital for helping to make her last days comfortable.
A Memorial Reception will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington on Friday November 2nd from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. The Burial will take place earlier in the day at Woodland Cemetery with Pearl’s family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army (who arranged the adoption of their daughter Starr) would be appreciated by the family. Please sign the Online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca/obituaries. Stories, memories & photos would be appreciated.
