Filippo Carrescia Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Filippo after a courageous battle with cancer at Emmanuel House Hospice on August 8, 2021 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Maria Angela for 60 years of marriage. Caring father of Giuseppe (Maria) and Lucio (Maria). Adoring grandfather of Nicholas (Michelle), Patrick (Ruth), Adam and Tania. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Lucia and his stepmother Grazia. Brother of Fernando and Giovanni (Graziella). Filippo will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Italy. A special thank you to Emmanuel House Hospice for their compassion and care as well as Father Mark Gatto and Father Yvon Paquin. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday, August 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Guests are required to wear a mask and socially distance. Due to capacity restrictions, you may have to wait to enter the visitation suite. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Catherine’s of Siena Parish (Our Lady of Lourdes site) on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery . Donations to Emmanuel House Hospice, Good Shepherd or Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated by the family.
