Francesco (Frank) Di Millo Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce that Francesco (Frank) DiMillo, born May 14, 1951, in Roccamorice, Italy, passed away on October 27, 2022, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Canada, surrounded by his loving family. Frank is survived by his devoted partner of 55 years, Sue and his children Angelina (Jean), Frank Jr. (Chantel), Emilia, Nichola (John), and his little pal Bella. He was predeceased by his parents Sante and Angelina, and stepmother, Filomena. As a young man, he grew up in Italy with his elder (predeceased) brother Antonio (Helen), Assunta (predeceased Mike) and Anna (Mario). In Canada, he was a helpful brother-in-law to (predeceased) John, Linda, George and Darlene.
Nonno, as he was known to all his grandchildren and fun uncle Frank to many nieces and nephews, loved good food and a good celebration – it was never a dull moment around him! Frank was a well-known and much-loved character. He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye, always ready to lend a helping hand, especially if it meant playing with his favourite toy: his backhoe bobcat! Anyone who knew Frank knew he was proud of his Abruzzo roots and will be greatly missed by many “paesanos” across Canada and Italy.
We are thankful for the countless doctors, nurses and hospitals who cared for him during his long battle with health. He was a trooper, and we are grateful that he is now at peace. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Sunday, October 30th from 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11a.m., with interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, we request donations be made to the Good Shepherd Foundation, Food4Kids Hamilton, or the Salvation Army.
