Fred Mattioli Obituary check_circle

December 3, 1923 – October 5, 2021
It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Fred at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 97 on October 5, 2021. Predeceased by his loving spouse Lillian. Loving father of Dortmund. Predeceased by his siblings Violet (Gidio), Roy (Betty), Sunny (survived by Diane), and Mary (Joseph). Survived by his sister Dolly (late Jim). Predeceased by his parents Nazzareno and Loretta. Fred will be dearly missed by his Tim Horton’s Gang and friends Larry, Kenny, Bruno, Marie, Eleanor, Shirley and many more. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends- especially his niece Theresa Syer who always made him laugh and smile with her positive energy, and well fed with home cooked meals and baked goods. He was an accomplished partner and long term employee of Yellow Cab for over 30 years, and also served World War II as a Navigator in the Canadian Airforce. Fred avidly searched for sales and deals in both flyers and grocery stores. His favorite being Fortinos, where he was a regular and often chatted with the staff. He will be remembered for having a great sense of humor (the king of one liners), his kindness and thoughtfulness, his love for keeping informed on world events from reading news over various newspapers, magazines, and news outlets. Fred often looked forward to his crosswords and sitting on his porch while talking with his wonderful neighbors – especially Lorne and Sandra O’Conner, Danny and Maria Domenicone .

Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Thursday October 7, 2021, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday October 8th with limited capacity. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
