It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marciano Urciuoli on March 12, 2024 in
his 93rd year at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. He was born in Taurasi, Italy on July 21, 1931.
Loving husband of Francesca for 67 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Sam and
Ralph (Nadia). Beloved Nonno of Daniel, Alyssa, Alexandra (Mak), Dean (Irena), Samantha
(Carlo), and Adrian (Melissa). Dearest son of the late Antonio and Antoinetta Urciuoli. Brother of
the late Sabino, Maria (Luigi), Giovanni, Alfredo (Mena), Maddalena (Michele) and Orazio
(Anna). Survived by sister-in-law Diletta, spouse of the late Sabino. Sadly missed by many
nieces, nephews and friends. Marciano retired from Mohawk College as a worker in the
maintenance department where he was most commonly known as Rocky Marciano. Special
thanks to all the wonderful staff at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Their dedication and support during
this very difficult journey has made his last few weeks peaceful. All family members felt blessed
to have Marciano cared for in such an amazing environment. A big thank you to Dr. Dobson who
continuously treated Marciano and his loved ones with respect and guidance. Special thanks to
Dr. Allega for his care throughout the years.

Marciano and Francesca’s love story began in 1955 in Peterborough, England. There, they were
introduced by friends and their love flourished all the way to Canada. In their early days,
Francesca and Marciano enjoyed dancing, traveling and visiting their friends. Marciano loved his
garden and going to Azzurri Sport Club daily to see his friends for coffee and to win chocolate
bars for his grandchildren. He loved watching his favourite Italian soccer team, Napoli, with his
family and friends. His biggest accomplishment was his winemaking as he came from an historic
wine town in Italy. He took pride in making some of the best homemade Italian red wine and
enjoyed sharing with others. His favourite Christmas tradition was watching Home Alone with his
grandkids. He loved to stay active by swimming on a weekly basis and helping around the
house. His favourite family moments were Sunday dinners in his basement. His wit and caring
heart will forever be missed by everyone around him.
