Maria Greco (nee Cino) Obituary check_circle

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nonna and sister. Maria passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday May 21, 2024 in her 94th year and is now reunited with her dear husband Alfonso. Cherished mother of Tina, Carmelo and Anna, Lena and Joe, Nick and Lina. Adoring Nonna of Kolin, Matthew, Alicia and Konrad and Alfonso. Caring sister of Santa Cino and sister-in-law Anna Cino. Predeceased by her parents Calogera and Nicolo Cino, her in-laws Concetta and Carmelo Greco and her brothers and sister-in-laws Vincenzo and Calogera Cino, Calogero and Maria Cino and Angelo Cino. Maria will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Also close to her heart was Charlie Criminisi and his family. We had a wonderful mother and nonna, her smile was made of sunshine and her heart was pure gold.

Maria was always the one taking care of everyone.  She opened her heart and home to family and friends. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and gardening. The passion for her flowers always brought a smile to everyone that saw them. With her inexhaustible energy she always made time to help her family. Like baking with her son Carm at La Bakeri and cooking with her son Nick at Nicola’s. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren. They were the joy in her life. Mommy always took care of us. It was an honour to be able to reciprocate that love and care to her. We were all blessed to have her in our lives as long as we did.

A heartfelt thank you to her PSW’s Delia,  Zakia,  Minti, and Melanie, her nurses Clarissa and Rachel and Dr. Castelluzzo for their loving care.

Visitation will take place at Friscolanti Funeral Home (43 Barton St E) on Sunday May 26, 2024 2pm-5pm and 6 pm-8pm. Vigil prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St Luke’s Parish (200 Mt. Albion Rd) on Monday May 27, 2024 at 10 am.  Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to McMaster Sick Kids would be appreciated.

We are our mother’s garden,
We are her legacy
And we hope today she feels the love reflected back to her from all of us.
WE LOVE YOU TOO MUCH MOMMY & NONNA!
