Sybil Margaret Bacchus Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Sybil Margaret Bacchus. We are so grateful to have had you as our mother. We will miss your grace, style and strength. You touched all who knew you with your generosity, care and compassion. What was striking about our mother is when she walked into the room she was always so well received as she was a shining star. Neighbourhood kids who visited our house while growing up knew they were always welcome and that my mother would always feed them great food. Sybil was very multifaceted and could communicate her thoughts with Shakespearean quotes and often made clever quips to make us laugh. She loved to dance, sing and host family gatherings. She taught us to always help others and to have compassion for the underdog. We will forever hold you in our hearts mom.
Sybil was the beloved wife of the late Dr. John S Bacchus, the mother of Michael, Howard, Kevin (Leanne), Naadia and Riyad. She was the proud grandmother of Genevieve, Jason, Vienna, Julian and Justin. She was the daughter of the late Jaikaran and Rampyari Sankersingh, Trinidad and Tobago.
Sybil was the beloved sister of many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews both in Trinidad and Southern Ontario.
Much thanks to Bluewater Health-Palliative unit, VON, Alzheimer’s Society, Dr. Barghava, Dr. Giffen and to all the dedicated personal support workers that made each day so special.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
