Hildegard Waltraud Grete Grobbecker (nee Koch) Obituary
Hildegard Waltraud Grete Grobbecker (nee Koch), age 92, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Born June 20, 1929, in Friedland, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Otto Koch & Charlotte (Plath). She was predeceased by her husband Hansjochen (1986). Surviving are her sons Bernd (Lynne) of St. Marys, Karl (Christine) of Stratford and Paul (Kim) of Kitchener, her 8 grandchildren; Alicia, Amanda, Kurt, Nikki, Jodi, Jillian, Cara, Kaylei and her 4 great grandchildren; Izabella, Oliver, Gavin and Brayden. Hilde had 2 sisters, Ilse (Lippert) & Fritz (Lippert), both deceased and Helga (Elter) & Wolfgang Elter(deceased) of Strasburg, Germany, sister -in-law Doerthe Grobbecker of Berlin, Germany, brother-in-law Christian Grobbecker (Maria deceased), of Werder/Havel, Germany. Hilde was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Mary Grobbecker. Hilde was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church and before her retirement she nursed at Stratford General Hospital. Her interests included card writing, crocheting, photography, gardening and most of all enjoying time with her family. The family will celebrate Hilde’s life with a private family funeral service on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford.
