KAVANAUGH, VERNA MAE
Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellete Campus on September 5, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Predeceased by her parents John (1980) and Odile (1984) Kavanaugh. Sister of the late Theresa Clarke (1960) and Gordon (Sonny) a WW II Veteran (1943). Verna is survived by dearest and best friend Marie Clark. Lovingly remembered by her nieces Pauline Third (late Neil) of Cambridge, Ontario, Lorraine Lundberg (Lloyd) of British Columbia, the late Kenneth Clarke, and nephew Michael Clarke (Wendy) of Stewart, British Columbia. Beloved Great-Aunt of Gayle Peori (Paul), late David Third (Karen), and the late Kevin Third. Much loved Great-Great-Aunt to Michelle, Heather, Jason, Mandy, Ashley, and Great-Great-Great-Aunt to Nicholas, Karsen, Avery, Koreina, Karlissa, Odessa and Kellan; all of Cambridge and London, as well as many others in B.C. Dearest friend of the late Bernard Berthiaume (2013) and surviving wife Anne. Beloved (Aunt) to the late Timothy, Valerie and Ron, Karen and Randy, Mary-Jo and Laszlo, Kevin and Linda, Daniel and Jennifer, Richard and Lisa, and Peter. Verna was a proud Veteran of the Canadian Women’s Army Corp, having served in Canada and the U.K during WWII. Verna is a retiree of Chrysler, a member of CAW Local 444, Our Lady of Guadalupe C.W.L. and R.C.L. Branch 255. Verna enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading mysteries, music and dancing. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Chartwell Oak Park Residence (North Service Road) for the outstanding and compassionate care provided to Verna. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Thursday September 10, 2015 from 4-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. A Veterans Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Road) for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee or Windsor Downtown Mission.
