Harold Lewis KENNEDY Obituary check_circle

KENNEDY, Harold Lewis
Born in Walkerville, Ontario in 1928, died peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Windsor. He was the devoted and loving husband of Margaret (nee Duncan), with whom he recently celebrated 64 years of marriage. Harold enjoyed an early career with the Ford Motor Company. Subsequently, he and Margaret devoted themselves to life-long service to God through the ministry of the Salvation Army, from which they retired with the rank of Major in 1990. Their ministry took them to various communities and areas of responsibility throughout Canada, as well as Zambia. A quiet, sincere man, Harold touched many lives as he strove to live the tenets of his Christian faith each day. He is loved, respected and remembered by his wife Margaret and his children Jim & Kathy Kennedy, Peggy & Charles Oldfield, David & Donna Kennedy and Duncan & Pierrette Kennedy and two sisters-in-law, Betty Kennedy and Barbara Kennedy. He will be greatly missed by each of his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. We want to express a special thank-you to the staff of the Royal Marquis Retirement Home for their ‘above and beyond’ care for both Harold and Margaret as well as to the staff of the 5th floor at the Ouellette Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital. Memorial visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 12 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com.
