Eugene SWIDERSKI Obituary check_circle

Eugene Swiderski of Invermay, SK, passed away at the Regina General Hospital on June 4, 2017, at the age of 68 years.
Eugene Donald Swiderski was born at Invermay Hospital on May 6, 1949, to Joseph and Jean (nee Bosovich) Swiderski and older brother, Fred.
He was raised on a farm in the Invermay/Rama area and attended Mason country school until grade six. With the closure of Mason school, Eugene was bussed to Invermay school where he went on to complete his grade eight education. Not enjoying school much, he decided not to return and entered the working world.
He worked for a few farmers in the area, tried working in Winnipeg, then returned to Saskatchewan and again worked for farmers until he gained employment with a Sask Wheat Pool construction crew in 1972. Eugene continued this work for twenty-one years until the Sask Wheat Pool’s future changed and they no longer required construction crews, thus forcing Eugene into early retirement.
Eugene was a quiet man and not so comfortable in crowds, but he did enjoy social visits one on one. He was also a very helpful person when asked and never really expected anything in return. These qualities attributed to a relaxed and simpler lifestyle in his retirement years.
In October 2010, while helping a neighbour, Eugene suffered a heart attack, which resulted in a nine-bypass surgery. Since the surgery was quite intensive, it left Eugene requiring daily care, which resulted in his becoming a resident of the Invermay Health Centre. In the last month, his health deteriorated, which led him to enter eternal rest at the Regina General Hospital on June 4, 2017. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Eugene was predeceased by his father, Joseph Swiderski and his step-father, Michael Grona; nephews, Curtis and Kevin Swiderski; his maternal and paternal grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his mother, Jean (Swiderski) Grona; brothers: Fred (Verna), Dennis, Myles; step-brother, Dale and step-sister, Lillian (Ken); nieces: Shelley (Johnnie), Trina (Derek), Janelle (Ben) and nephews, Shawn and Trevor; and his great nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn, Ty, Desirae, Kole and Hayden; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK with Rev. Fr. Marcin Mironiuk, OMI, as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, Rama, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Invermay Health Centre or to St. Anthony’s R. C. Parish Cemetery Fund, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Eugene Swiderski.
