Helen Cecilia Milligan Obituary
Helen passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Planeto who passed away February 1965. Helen is survived by her four children, Linda Garvey, Sandra Warren (Brian), Daniel Planeto (Marilyn) and Gordon Planeto (Tracy); six grandchildren, Sheena and Sharla Warren, Arianne, Alisa, Tessa and Thomas Planeto; stepdaughter Sandy Johnson (Harvey); siblings, Agnes Holmes, Noreen Turner, Clem Zurowski and Loretta Toupin; plus many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Helen retired from her 23-year career with the Saskatchewan Government and fell in love a second time when she met Charles (Chuck) Milligan. They were married in 1900 and had nearly 20 years together. Chuck passed away in January 2010. Helen loved dancing, music, bowling and fun times with family and friends. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed playing the clarinet with the Regina Lions Band. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Providence Place for the terrific care and kindness they gave to Helen.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550 – 12 Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or a charity of their choice.
