Michael RABBETZ Obituary
Mike was born on September 11, 1923 and on Friday, June 2, 2017 our beloved dad and grandpa passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital. He left us to be reunited with his soul mate June after 29 years apart. Mike was also predeceased by his son-in-law Brian Turner in 2006. Mike is survived by their daughters Sherry Turner and Debbie Seiferling (Brian); grandchildren Kimberly (Robin), Brad (Sky), Lindsey (Darcy), Adam, Amy (Linden), Meagan (Austin) and Landon; as well as great granddaughters Hudson, Caprice and Ava; he will also be fondly remembered by brother in law Ronald Jackson (Joan) and their extended family. “Mikey” proudly built his own house, raised his family, and remained at his home until his final days. His career was with the Canadian Pacific Railway where he started shoveling coal and retired as an engineer in 1983. He loved building, renovating, and was always creating a new project until his health declined. We will cherish so many memories of family gatherings, his eccentric stories of the past, family walks in the country and popping over for visits to reminisce. Our families are very grateful to the staff at the Pasqua Emergency and Pasqua Palliative Wing for their utmost respect of our wishes in the last part of his brief journey. We close this chapter by always remembering dad/grandpa’s smile and “thumbs up” whenever things are good and happy, until we meet again. At Michael’s request, no funeral will be held.
