Lincoln – Ronnie Joe Martin, 61, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, February 9, 2012, at
. The Rev. Randy Morris will be officiating. Burial will follow in Plum Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Martin was born in Talladega, Alabama on October 4, 1950. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot in 2007 with 31 years of service. He is also retired from the Alabama National Guard with 21 years of service. Mr. Martin was an athlete his entire life. In his youth, he played baseball and was a member of many all-star teams. As an adult he played softball and was a member of Pine Hill Golf Course. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Martin; daughter, Amy (David) Adams, son, David Martin, daughter, Tammy (Bryan) Counts, son Jeff Jones; mother, Edna Gossett; sister, Judy (Neal) Morris; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Aubie Joe Martin. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thomason, Norris Turner, Jerry Mullinax, Wayne Jackson, Shelton Morrow, and Donnie Robinson. The family would like to give special thanks to Lakeside Hospice in Pell City and his nurse, Terri Walker, and Dr. Shaley Lakhanpal.
