Patricia Ann Canada Thompson Obituary check_circle

Atlanta, GA – Patricia Ann Canada Thompson, "Tricia", passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, after a brief illness. Born in Anniston, Alabama, she graduated from Anniston High School and then attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. In the early 1970s she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked for Georgia Power Company, Warner Brothers Film Distribution, and Georgia Theatre Company. In 2000, she transferred to St. Simons Island with the company and served as Executive Secretary and Assistant to the Chairman and CEO. She was an animal advocate and an active volunteer with The Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia and The Potcake Place in the Turks and Caicos and will be missed by her two and four-legged friends. She had a love for traveling, having visited the UK, Central Europe, Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Paris, Egypt, the Greek Isles, Turkey, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. Tricia was engaged to Mark Woodring, DVM, of the Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI. She was predeceased by her father, Joe Canada, and her brother, James Roland Canada, and is survived by her mother, Belva Louise Canada of St. Simons Island, Georgia and her beloved dogs, Bay and Carmine. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, in the Sanctuary at St. Simons United Methodist Church located at 624 Ocean Boulevard, St. Simons Island, Georgia.
