Guy Felton Benefield Jr.
Wedowee – Funeral services for Guy Felton Benefield Jr., 76, of Wedowee, will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, from the Leven’s Baptist Church with the Rev. David Daniel officiating. Mr. Benefield will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Greens Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends today, December 15, 2011, at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Donnie Benefield, Billy McInnis, Buddy Screws, Ed Horn, David Challenger, J. D. McCary. Mr. Benefield died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at his home. Mr. Benefield is survived by his wife, Sue Yates Benefield, of Wedowee; one daughter, Linda Benefield Smith, of Wedowee; two sons, Bradley Felton Benefield, of Pell City, Don Benefield, of Huntsville; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Lou Browning, of Wedowee, Irene (husband, Pete) McManus, of Wedowee, Frances Kirby, of Roanoke, Sara (husband, Byron) Kirby, of Anniston, Idell (husband, Bill) Wilder, of Anniston. Mr. Benefield was born, June 13, 1935, the son of Guy Felton and Mattie Bell Owen Benefield. He was a member of Greens Chapel Methodist Church and had work for Bell South doing cable repair.
