Shirley Kichen Obituary check_circle

Shirley Kichen, 87, a longtime resident of Scottsdale, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Shirley and her husband Rubin relocated to Arizona in 1974 from New York and were both active members of the real estate community in Scottsdale. Shirley and Rubin were volunteers at The Cancer Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital for many years. They also supported other charities in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, including the Salvation Army and efforts to repair and clean up houses for the elderly and indigent. Rubin passed away in 2010. Shirley is survived by her son Steve, who lives in New Jersey, and son Jon, who lives in Scottsdale. Her two daughters-in-law are Ina and Dana. She has four grandchildren: Jason, married to Stefeny, lives in Virginia; Huyen, Luan, and Hoan live in New Jersey. Shirley is also survived by her great-granddaughter Monroe, daughter of Jason and Stefeny. Services for Shirley will be at Temple Kol Ami, 15030 N 64th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband Rubin at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix. The family will be receiving visitors after the services Thursday and Friday (daytime hours) at the home of Jon and Dana Kichen. Her family will always remember Shirley for her determination, resilience and sense of humor. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Shirley’s memory to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, 1919 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85016
