ORLAND – Ryan Jay Babson, 37, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at his home. He was born July 4, 1974, in Blue Hill, the son of Larry D. Babson and Laurel M. (Woods) Bryant. Ryan served in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany, Bosnia and Kuwait. Ryan was an avid reader, enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing, and loved horses. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Robert and Eva Babson; his mother and stepfather, Laurel and Michael Bryant; his father and stepmother, Larry and Irene Babson; brother, Larry Babson II and wife, Miranda, and their daughter, Molly; sister, Tera Gellerson and husband, Todd, and their children, Megan, Ellie, Alorah and Oliver; stepsister, Jennifer Pulvino and husband, John, and their sons, Ben and Will; and stepsiblings, Jenny Bryant, Adam Bryant, Michael "Tony" Bryant and wife, Jennifer, and Tim Bryant. Ryan is also survived by special family and friends, Shane Grindle, Joe McGraw and Jay Keene; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Frances Babson; maternal grandparents, Howard and Mary Woods; as well as his faithful canine companion, Jethro. Family and friends will gather for visitation 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
