Heidi Lynn Duggan-Adams Obituary check_circle

Heidi Lynn Duggan-Adams, 29, along with her 9-year-old daughter, Imogin, of Overland Park, Kansas, died November 14, 2011, in a tragic automobile accident. Heidi was born January 3, 1982, in Overland Park, Kansas, the daughter of Stan and Vicki Duggan of Olathe, Kansas. She was the youngest of three siblings: Christabel "Chrissy" Dawn Duggan-Ellison of Garnett, Kansas, and Heather Marie Duggan-Reighard of Spring Hill, Kansas. Heidi graduated from Maranatha Academy in Shawnee, Kansas, in 2000, where she sang and performed the lead part of Maria in The Sound of Music. She was self-employed as a personal assistant, helping with home organization, shopping, meal planning and preparation. She also helped with the children and assisted families with appointments. Heidi is survived by her daughters, Kyla Rianne, a 7- year-old student at Lakewood Elementary School in Blue Valley, Alannah McKenna, a 4- year-old preschool student in Kids’ Day Out at Westside Nazarene Church in Olathe, Kansas, and soul mate, Jonathan Chase of Overland Park, Kansas. Heidi was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Priscilla Marie Logsdon-Duggan, of St. Louis, Missouri, and James Duggan of Kansas City, Missouri. Heidi had an infectious, comedic personality that won the hearts of everyone she met. She had an overflowing capacity for love and a genuine spirit of friendship and acceptance. Everyone who knew her instantly loved her, from the littlest of her friends to the biggest ones. She had friends all across the country. Heidi was always selfless, putting others first no matter what it cost her. She was a woman ahead of her time in accepting anyone and everyone. Above all, her greatest love was her three little girls. She was a wonderful mother who lavished her children with her great capacity for patience, new experiences and a spirit of spontaneity that encouraged us all. Heidi gave so much of herself to her kids that any time she was with them, she was 100% with them. She played with them, sang with them, colored with them and danced with them. They had movie time, date time, girlie dates at the beauty salon . . all of this Kyla and Alannah will remember. Memorial contributions may be given to the Adams Family Fund in care of: People’s Bank, 7579 West 151st Street Overland Park, KS 66223. A memorial service for Heidi and her daughter, Imogin, will be held Saturday, November 19, 12:00 p.m., preceded by visitation, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at Cross Points Church, 6824 Lackman Road, Shawnee, KS 66217.
