Marie Tilson Ball

Salem, SC – Marie Tilson Ball, 80, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Salem, SC with her family by her side.

Marie was born in Madison County, the daughter of the late Otis and Ellen Rowe Tilson. She retired at the age of 75 from Electrolux Home Products in Fletcher, NC. Marie was of the Baptist Faith.

She was survived by her loving children, a son, Larry Dean Ball (Wanda) of Asheville, NC.; a daughter, Wanda Ball Stewart of Salem, SC; a sister, Virgina King of Asheville, NC.; grandchildren, Lori Stewart Nolte (Jimmy) of Walterboro, SC, Crystal Ball Climer (Ian) of Charlotte, NC, and Leah Stewart Worthy (Jason) of Easley, SC; great-grandchildren, Emily Paige Stewart-Foxx (parent-Lynn Foxx), Dean Monroe and Laile Elisa Worthy of Easley, SC, Mari Beth and Ella Marie Nolte of Walterboro, SC and Rylee Illianna Climer, of Charlotte, NC.

Marie was also survived by step-daughters, Faye Ball Flynn (Don) and Barbara Ball Metcalf (Gerald) of Marshall, NC; step-grandchildren, Keith Flynn (Denise), Donna Flynn Chandler (Howard) and Jeff Flynn of Marshall, NC, Scott Payne (Marcia) of Fletcher, NC and Tony Payne (Elke) of Mars Hill, NC; step great-grandchildren, Adam (Kaylyn) and Aaron Chandler of Marshall, NC, Karsten Noah and Lukas Eli Payne of Mars Hill, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Lisa Dale Stewart; a son-in-law Dale Anthony Stewart; and a step-granddaughter, Angela Payne.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be sent to the Benevolence Fund of Easley First Baptist Church, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640 and the Keowee Key Fire Department, 1240 Stamp Creek Road, Salem, SC 29676.

The family offers their special thanks to Providence Care Hospice, Piedmont, SC and the Keowee Key Fire Department.
